For LGBTQ+ people

I am totally at home photographing LGBTQ+ weddings.

As part of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I was working in the wedding industry prior to equal marriage being in law. I have been a strong advocate for equal marriage throughout. I pushed mainstream magazines and blogs to feature my LGBTQ+ couples and national Wedding Ideas Magazine first ever two bride 'real wedding' in 2014 featured one of 'my couples', across an eight page spread.

I am a proud ally of transgender and non-binary people and have photographed trans and non-binary weddings.

There is no LGBT without the T!

I specifically ask prounouns for the couple and their close family and friends as part of my pre-wedding planning. This ensures everyone is respected and understood.

For ENM / Poly people

Love is love. I fully appreciate that some of my couples will fall under the umbrella of ENM / polyamorous. If you're looking to celebrate your shared love, union, or commitment together, I got you. Whether you are having a full on big poly wedding, or want something more discreet such as some triad photographs on the day just for you guys (or something in between), i'll be there to capture it.

For disabled / neurodivergent people

I appreciate that navigating wedding planning where one (or both) of the people getting married are disabled and/or neurodivergent can throw up more challenges.

I always ask about accessibility for the couple and all guests. This can range from ensuring that a guest with mobility issues can access and feel comfortable for the group photographs, or that I am aware of the need for lip reading for a deaf couple/guest/member of the wedding party (and adjust how I'm holding my camera accordingly during instructions), to basically anything else that is needed.

I am happy to make adjustments to ensure you are more comfortable.

I have a lot of experience with autistic, ADHD & PDA children. I understand how overwhelming a wedding day can be for neurodivergent children, and can make or suggest adjustments where needed.

I am able to provide social stories / alternative communication in advance, if you or your guests need. These are neurodivergent affirming, rather than being a method of control!

For the people who don't feel they fit into

'the wedding mould'

Listen, the wedding world online/tv/magazine/blogs can sometimes look like only young, slim, magazine beautiful, white folks are getting married. FALSE!

If you like my photos, approach and vibe, I got you. I have many photographed weddings of people of all ages, from early 20s to late 70s (so far), and welcome all races, religions, styles, body shapes and sizes of course.

The best weddings are where couples feel comfortable being themselves and don't feel the need to conform, because they can relax and celebrate who they are, not what people expect they should be or say, simply because they are getting married.

Throw away the traditions if you want. Keep the ones that suit you.

A LITTLE NOTE ON MY BELIEFS ABOUT ANIMALS

(AKA: BEING KIND TO ALL KIND)

I believe the best photographs come from photographers who can wholeheartedly celebrate the day they're documenting. Because I'm vegan, I choose not to photograph weddings held at venues where animals are a central part of the experience, such as zoos or similar attractions. Things like butterfly or dove releases, horse and carriage rides, petting zoos, animal entertainment displays also present a moral dilemma for me.

Whilst i'm absolutely not judging your choices, if this is something that is important to you to have on your wedding day, we may not be the right fit, and I am happy to recommend an alternative photographer for you.

Often my couples have animal companions such as dogs, who are part of their wedding day. I absolutely love meeting furry friends and will happily capture them as part of the family. It's best if you have a family member or friend on hand to help, or a professional chaperone service can be super helpful! This means they can say hello, get some waggy tail photographs, and then be able to return to a quieter place to chill.
